List of Dental Schools
Your source for affordable dentists and FREE dental work

Following is the List of Dental Schools for the United States and Canada. These schools have dental clinics that may provide free dental work to the general population. This list contains US accredited schools and may include 2 year accredited dental hygiene schools. A dental hygenist enrolled at one of the many dental hygienist schools provides affordable family dental care prophys (cleanings) at little or no cost.

While I have a list of Dental Schools for Canada, I do not have direct clinic contact number information. Canadian patients looking to have affordable family dental care provided at any of the facilities noted on the list of dental schools should use the telephone number provided, then request the telephone number for new patient appointments. I will attempt to get direct contact information soon. I apologize for any inconvenience. Please feel free to contact me if there are any errors related to contact information on the List of Dental Schools.

General Guidelines

Here are some general guidelines to remember before contacting any school on the List of Dental Schools:

  • Dental treatment is provided by students under the supervision of faculty members

  • Only patients whose dental problems match the clinical teaching programs on this list of dental schools and who have the needed time for treatment are accepted

  • An appointment screening visit is often necessary to determine if your dental problems can be managed by the school’s program.

  • Unfortunately, individuals whose dental problems are beyond the scope of any clinic on the list of dental schools, will not be accepted as a patient. In most cases, if a clinic on the list of dental schools is unable to meet your needs, an appropriate referral may be made for you to obtain private care. If this turns out to be your situation, while you may not qualify for free dental work, there is still a way for you to save on dental fees.

Using the List of Dental Schools

Use the List of Dental Schools to locate a school near you for affordable family dental care. For the United States, this list is sorted by US States and in most cases, contains a direct clinic number for your convenience. It is important that you contact each school directly for information on how to become a patient of their dental facility. I am not able to provide any detailed info on the process and do not do direct referrals.

In addition to contacting a clinic, research and ask questions about the facility, including the faculty and group practice size. Also ask about patient to student and faculty to student ratios. An ideal faculty to student ratio may be about 1:5. The average treatment time may also be a determinant in your decision to accept treatment at the facility. These questions and more should assist you with deciding if a dental school is the best way for you to get the affordable family dental care that meets you and your family's dental needs.

Rejected as a Dental School Patient?

Unfortunately, not all who seek dental treatment at a dental clinic using this List of Dental Schools will be accepted as a patient. But, there are other options to saving on dental fees. One such way to save is for you to consider enrolling in a dental plan.

One such dental plan program is offered through DentalPlans.com. At DentalPlans.com, they have over 100,000 participating dentists to choose from. In my opinion, dental plans are the best alternative for savings on dental costs, secondary to receiving free dental care.

Joining a plan allows you to save money on quality dental care - often upwards of 10% to 60% on a wide range of dental procedures: Examinations, Cleanings, Dental Radiographs, Fluoride Treatments, Root Canals, Orthodontic Braces, Dentures, Wisdom Tooth Extractions, Gum Surgery, Dental Implants, Fillings, Dental Crowns, Dental Bridges, plus many other dental procedures.

Use the Dental Plans box below in order to get a firsthand look at the features of some plans including DentalPlans.com and Avia Dental Plans, both outstanding dental plan services. Each plan offers similar discounts on dental services, as well as multiple plan options, allowing you to choose a dentist and plan that compliments you and your family's dental needs.

Dental Patient Guide

When using the list of dental schools, also refer to the Dental Patient Guide for more information on being a dental school patient. If you are accepted as a patient, remember to use the methods discussed on the ways to get free dental work.

Dental Referral Services

If you find that the List of Dental Schools guide does not meet your needs, and you prefer to use a private dentist, consider using a Dental Referral Service. Dental Referral Services are designed to assist you with locating affordable family dental care in your area. Use the referral information in conjunction with the information provided on dental insurance, another resource designed to help you locate low cost dental insurance and dental plans to meet both your dental needs and your budget. This information helps to take the guesswork out of dental insurance - explaining the different types of insurance available, as well as indicating your out-of-pocket costs and any coverage limitations, if applicable.

Use the List of Dental Schools today and begin to take control of your dental costs!

NORTH CAROLINA

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has many more people who would like to become patients than they can accept. Therefore, potential patients need to first enter a monthly drawing. To enter the drawing, you must complete an Admissions Drawing Entry. This entry may be obtained at the main reception area of the Tarrson Hall Building.

At the end of each month, a limited number of entries are drawn. These people are mailed an application. Entries that are not drawn are discarded. If you submit an entry and do not hear from them by the 10th day of the following month, you should assume your entry was not drawn, and you must submit another entry for consideration.

You may skip the drawing if you need full dentures that will replace all of your upper or lower teeth, or are seeking an application for a child under 12 years old. Call 919-966-6474 to receive an application.
