Patients who need Regular Cleanings or have Gum Disease

University of Michigan School of Dentistry

The University of Michigan School of Dentistry is looking for healthy individuals who need regular dental cleanings or have gum disease (periodontitis)/ for a six month research study involving the donation of oral fluid samples, dental cleaning or periodontal treatment, and follow-up visits.

Eligible participants will receive a full mouth examination, and dental cleaning or deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) at no cost.

Major Inclusion Criteria:

• Overall good health


• Patients with gum disease OR healthy patients in need of regular dental cleaning


• No antibiotics or NSAIDs use
