Smoking and Exercise Study


Harvard School of Dental Medicine - Stop Smoking through Exercise and Patch Research Study


Harvard School of Dental Medicine is conducting a study to test the effectiveness of home based vs. supervised exercise in addition to nicotine patch therapy for quitting smoking. Participants can receive $75 for completing all assessments.

Criteria: Women age 18-55 who have no history of:

  • heart disease

  • chonic skin disorder

  • insulin dependent diabetes

  • uncontrolled hypertension

  • drug dependence

  • serious psychiatric or orthopedic history

  • smoke at least 5 cigarettes a day for at least a year and planning to quit in the next month

  • exercising less than 3 times a week
